Pick Up, Drive, Return—Made Simple

Renting a truck should be simple. At Hengehold, we want you to show up prepared so you can get on the road quickly. Here’s a quick checklist to make your pick-up experience smooth and stress-free.

What to Bring

  • Valid Driver’s License – A must for every driver on the rental.
  • Credit Card – For payment and security deposit. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover.
  • Before You Arrive

  • Reserve the Right Size – Choose from cargo vans, box trucks, pickups, or specialty vehicles.
  • Plan Your Add-Ons – Need a dolly, furniture pads, or straps? Reserve ahead so they’re ready.
  • Consider Coverage – Decide if you want our Collision Damage Waiver for extra peace of mind.
  • Pick-up

  • Simple. Come to the Rental Office – We’ll review your reservation, pull up your rental, check mileage, fuel level, and note any existing wear.
  • Standard Returns

  • Full Tank: Return the truck with a full tank. Keep your receipt and we’ll match the pump price.
  • Mileage Check: We’ll confirm the miles driven against your agreement—no surprises.
  • Walk-Around: A quick inspection with our team to note any changes from pick-up.
  • Weekend & After-Hours Returns

  • Secure Lot Access: Our Palo Alto location has a safe, well-lit return lot.
  • Drop-Off Anytime: Park your truck, lock it, and leave the keys in our secure drop box.
  • No Waiting: We’ll process your return first thing the next business day and email your final paperwork.
